This paper reviews the government policies that have implemented some Latin American countries for the promotion and use
of ICT. One hypothesis is that countries whose indicators show a further development of ICT are those in which the Digital
Action Plan is sustainable over time and was launched and executed at the highest level of government (Chile and Colombia).
The methodology is to review the development plans and other initiatives regarding the Information Society in four countries
(Chile, Colombia, México and Perú) and the evaluation of these policies on the progress of Latin American countries through
indicators for monitoring, to finally make some recommendations.
