1. 1. PRESENTATION ONDRIVERLESS CARS
PRESENTED BY:
Er. Kamal Hassan
Lecturer in M.E.D
Haryana Engineering College,Jagadhri.
2. 2. INTRODUCTION
Driver error is the most common cause of traffic accidents
India contributes 6 % of the world's road accident deaths
Cell phones, in-car entertainment systems, more traffic and more complicated road systems making it more frequent
By this improving technology our car will do the concentrating for us.
3. 3. INDEX
Anti-lock brakes(ABS)
Electronic stability control (ESC)
Cruise control
Self Parking
Automated Guided Vehicle Systems
4. 4. DRIVERLESS CAR
5. 5. CURRENT TECHNOLOGY
Anti-lock brakes(ABS)
Electronic stability control (ESC)
Traction or Stability control
Cruise control
Self Parking
6. 6. Anti-lock brakes(ABS)
While braking hard without anti-lock brakes, the wheels can lock up, sending the car into an out-of-control skid. and the driver has to pump the brake pedal to keep the wheels from locking up
With anti-lock brakes, the system does the pumping for the driver - and does it better than the driver. The system can read the wheels and knows when they are about to lock and react faster
8. 8. ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC)
ESC compares the driver's intended direction to the vehicle's actual direction
Can activate one or more individual brakes control the throttle to lessen the speed
COMPONENTS

Wheel-speed sensors
 9. 9. Steering-angle sensors
 10. 10. Rotational-speed sensor

ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL
11. 11. Cruise control
Cruise control keeps the car at a constant speed by taking over the throttle of the car
Modified form is Adaptive cruise control
It also maintain a set distance between it and the car in front of it
12. 12. Self-parking Cars
Lexus LS 460 L with Advance Parking Guidance System
System uses sensors all around the car to guide it into a parallel parking space
The driver has to find a parking space,
Position the car next to it, and use the in-cabin navigation screen to tell the car where it should go.
The parking space needs to be 6 feet (1.8 meters) longer than the car
13. 13.
 14. 14. Automated Guided Vehicle Systems
UsesFROG (Free Ranging On Grid) technology
FROG vehicles are equipped with a computer that contains a map of the area
15. 15. QUESTION:Will we have driverless cars one the roads one day ? YES We Will !
