Magazine Institutions and Companies IPC Media produces over 60 iconic media brands, with print alone reaching almost two thirds of UK women and 42% of UK men – almost 26 million UK adults – while the websites collectively reach over 20 million users every month. IPCs diverse print and digital portfolio offers something for everyone, with a focus on three core audiences: men, mass market women and upmarket women. The International PublishingCorporation Ltd (IPC) was formed in 1963. IPC Magazines were created five years later in 1968. IPC Media publishes a hugerange of magazines and websites across many different sectors for both smaller niche markets as well as mainstream.Some of the magazines produced include of:Marie Claire Look NME TV The Field Mbr In Style Bauer Media reaches over nineteen million UK adults across multiple media channels. The Group is a worldwide media empire offering over 300 magazines in 15 countries, as well as online, TV and radio stations. Bauer Media joined the Bauer Media Group in January 2008 following acquisition of Emap plc’s consumer and specialist magazines, radio, TV, online and digital businesses. Collectively, the Group employs some 6,400 people. They have more than eighty influential media brands spanning a wide range of interests, including heat, GRAZIA, Closer, MATCH, Magic 105.4, Kiss 100, Kerrang and 4Music. The business is built on millions of personal relationships with engaged readers and listeners. Bauer connects audiences with compelling content, whenever, wherever, and however they want. The unique insight allows them to workclosely with customers to develop innovative solutions that create a difference to their business.They produce both nicheand mainstream magazines which mean they have magazines spread over different markets for instance photographymagazines which are of a niche audience and they then have magazines of a huge mainstream market like women’s gossipmagazines. They therefore have a vast range of audiences. Bauer have targeted several different audiences consisting of alltypes. Bauer itself is a franchise brand which has many different forms of media magazines like ‘Q’ and ‘Kerrang’ both havetheir radio stations and TV channels. For millions of people across the globe involved in the built environment, retail, media, fashion, health, education, government and automotive sectors, Emap provided essential news, analysis and access. Emap started life as a local newspaper company in 1947 and transformedinto a global media group, playing a crucial role in giving the essential news, analysis and access that they need to succeed.The industry was publishing. Emap produced a range of magazines for smaller niche markets and mainstream. Thecompany split up and was sold off, but it was the second largest publisher in the UK.Some examples of the magazines produced include of:Smash Hits Business Matters Sport The Face Sega and Saturn ELLE Red Future plc is an international special-interest media group.In 2006, it was the sixth-largest in the United Kingdom. It was founded in 1985 with one magazine;but today they have operations in the UK, US and Australia creating over 180 special-interest publications, websites and events for people who are passionate about their interests. They hold market-leading positions in games, film, music, technology, cycling, automotive and crafts.Future plc sells 3.2 million magazines each month and they attract more than 23 million unique visitors to their websites as well as hosting 27 annual live events that attracthundreds of thousands of enthusiasts. In addition, Future exports or syndicates publications to 90 countriesinternationally, making them the UK’s number one exporter and licensor of monthly magazines. Future only sellsmagazines to specialist niche markets for communities passionate about their interests.
