Evaluation/reflection of audience research resultsFirstly, I created a questionnaire for 20 people to answer. The questions I used in the questionnaire were helpful forme to decide on music genre and the typical conventions of a music video and what people thought was mostimportant. I also found out details such as the type of technology most popular for consuming music as well aswhat’s important in a digipak design and music album advertisement.I then created a tally chart. This was a good way to display and analyse my results from the questionnaire as it isclear and easy to understand. The tally result from each questionnaire showed different answers and gave me anidea of what was the most popular answer from each question.I then used excel to display my results from the tally. I created pie charts and bar graphs for my results as they displayclear results and make it easy to u understand and see what the most popular answer was. Some of the results willbe very useful for me in my planning.Firstly, the most popular genre was indie/soul followed by pop. This is a popular genre at the moment and I wasalready set on doing this genre so that was a good start! I also discovered that over three quarters of people watchmusic videos in their spare time. This suggests that my video will need to be original and unique and stand outagainst others. I also found out that most people prefer the video to have a narrative structure and have more thanone location. In a music advert it was said that colour scheme and typography were important factors.I then created a reader profile which describes my audience. This audience research has beenextremely helpful and will definitely help me in the planning for my video as I know the expectationsand what should be considered to make the music video/ digipak/advert more successful overall.
