  3. 3. Contacting your child’s classroom teacher <ul><li>Class teachers are available most mornings from 8.30-8.45am (If you wish to discuss an issue) or you can make an appointment to see them via </li></ul><ul><li>Mrs Convery. </li></ul>
  4. 4. School Session Times <ul><li>Period 1 9.00am-10.15am </li></ul><ul><li>Period 2 10.15am-11.30am </li></ul><ul><li>Recess 11.30am-11.55am </li></ul><ul><li>Period 3 11.55am-1.10pm </li></ul><ul><li>Lunch 1.10pm-2.00pm </li></ul><ul><li>Period 4 2.00-3.15pm </li></ul>

Quality Beginning <ul><li>Your children completed a program to establish their classroom routines. </li></ul><ul><li>They have been involved in a variety of activities and as a group they have developed class code and consequences, what makes a good student, teacher, classroom. </li></ul><ul><li>They have discussed values and ways they can display these. </li></ul><ul><li>Values we are focusing on from P-12 </li></ul><ul><li>Responsibility, Excellence, Strive, Pride, Equality, </li></ul><ul><li>Connectedness, Trust </li></ul>

Homework/Home reading <ul><li>Please ensure that your children are reading at home and record their reading in their college diaries. </li></ul><ul><li>Please ensure that your children are learning their times tables at home every night. </li></ul><ul><li>Homework is given out on a FRIDAY and needs to be returned the following THURSDAY . </li></ul>
  7. 7. NAPLAN TESTING <ul><li>Grade 5 will have three days of testing </li></ul><ul><li>Each child will have the opportunity to complete a number of past tests in their classrooms in preparation . </li></ul><ul><li>The test consists of some Literacy and Numeracy. </li></ul>
  8. 8. Grade 5/6 Sport <ul><li>Interschool sport will be in the morning for the summer season. </li></ul><ul><li>The children should be organised and bring their hats, snack, drink and sunscreen each week. </li></ul><ul><li>The school has a policy NO HAT-NO SPORT. </li></ul>
  9. 9. Camp <ul><li>A camp has been booked in 2010 for grade 5/6 at Sovereign Hill on the 7 th and 8 th of June returning on Wednesday the 9th </li></ul><ul><li>A note will be going home later this term and we will require parents to pay a deposit. </li></ul><ul><li>You will be given the opportunity to pay for the camp by instalments. </li></ul>
  10. 11. Dates to remember <ul><li>Swimming Sports 1 st March </li></ul><ul><li>Camp Sovereign Hill June 7 th , 8 th and 9 th . </li></ul>
