      • not defined by the number of employees or by turnover , but by belonging to one of the skilled craft trades as laid out in the Crafts Act
    • Organisation of the German Skilled Crafts Some facts and statistics* on the skilled craft sector 962.000 skilled crafts enterprises  27 % of all German businesses 4.8 million employees in the skilled crafts sector  12 % of the total labour force 491 billion EURO (incl. VAT) turn-over  8 % of total gross value added 483.000 apprentices  30 % of all apprentices  74 % of all skilled crafts businesses have less then 10 employees *according to ZDH published data
