CHELSEA MCCAIG TIME MANAGEMENT
To work effectively you really have to manage your time. We all have our moments when we wonder what happened to the day and we seem to get nothing done but, in a business, time is money and every hour you spend at work costs your employer a lot of money.
POOR TIME MANAGEMENT
Getting less down than you expected
An inability to meet deadlines set by your line manager
Spending much longer on some part of the job than having insufficient time to do the rest of the job
Time wasting
Not knowing what to do or how to start
Being unable to find the information you need to do the job
Procrastination
Re-doing tasks over
Poor motivation
Work overload
Interruptions
Meetings over running
TIME STEALERS
EFFECTS OF POOR TIME MANAGEMENT
Much of the time spent at work being waster
Staff becoming demoralise
Work not progressing as fast as hoped
Targets not being achieved
New projects not being started
BENEFITS FROM GOOD TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS
It allows organisations to plan, delegate and organise employees more effectively
Everyone in the organisation can then be focused on their own tasks
Progress of projects can be traced and if there is a hold up it can be identified and extra resources allocated to it
Individual employees feel more in control of their work
