What are they? <ul><li>Expository documentaries are documentaries that expose a person or a topic. </li></ul><ul><li>It is a classic form of documentary, one of the four main types. </li></ul><ul><li>Expository documentaries are well known for having a commentator, talking over the pictures or videos and explaining the story. </li></ul>

How do they appeal to an audience? <ul><li>In an expository documentary the commentator talks specifically to the audience. </li></ul><ul><li>They are often biographical, historical or talk about a certain event. </li></ul><ul><li>They include footage, </li></ul><ul><li>Interviews or pictures exclusive </li></ul><ul><li>To the documentary. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Expository Documentaries from Channel 4 <ul><li>Channel 4 and More 4 have made 541 documentaries in total so far. </li></ul><ul><li>There are documentaries on historical, biographical, health, science, nature, environmental, music and more topics. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Backstairs Billy: The Queen Mum’s Butler <ul><li>This is a documentary on William Tallon. He was the queens devoted servant. The documentary shows pictures, videos and stories of William with the queen, the queen mother and princess diana. It is mainly about how he has come from living like that, closely with the royal family to living in a flat alone being hounded by the press. </li></ul>
