  2. 2. <ul><li>Q. What do I have to do? </li></ul><ul><li>A. Find an elderly subject to interview for about 10-15min. Capture the interview on film and edit into a one-minute clip. The main theme is ONE true story of the subject’s life. </li></ul><ul><li>Q. Who should I interview? </li></ul><ul><li>A. Anyone aged 55 years and above. E.g. Grandparent, neighbour, relative, friends, etc. </li></ul>
  3. 3. <ul><li>Q. What do I interview about? </li></ul><ul><li>A. The main question we want all film-makers to ask is: “Can you please share with me ONE story of your life?” This is because we want to collect 43 true life stories from our elderly. </li></ul><ul><li>Q. What language should be used when interviewing the elderly? </li></ul><ul><li>A. Any language that allows the elderly to best express himself/herself. </li></ul>
  4. 4. <ul><li>Q. Is there a dress code for the interviewee? </li></ul><ul><li>A. No, although you may suggest to the elderly to put on something that tells the story of the person (.e.g cultural dress, favourite shirt that has sentimental value, etc) </li></ul>
  5. 5. <ul><li>Q. What kind of recording device should I use? </li></ul><ul><li>A. Use a standard video camera for your interview. Recommended 7.1 megapixels and above. </li></ul><ul><li>Q. Will a camera be provided? </li></ul><ul><li>A. Youths will have to find their own equipment. </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul>
  6. 6. <ul><li>Q. What kind of camera angle should I use? </li></ul><ul><li>A. The interview clip should show the interviewee’s front or side profile, and the overall clip should be well-lit. More importantly, the audio should be coherent. </li></ul><ul><li>Q. Do I have to edit the clip myself? </li></ul><ul><li>A. Yes, or you can find a friend who knows about video editing to help you. </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul>
  7. 7. <ul><li>Q. Where should I do the filming? </li></ul><ul><li>A. You may wish to choose a venue that is most convenient to the elderly, but beware of noisy background (e.g. heavy traffic noise, construction work, etc) which may spoil the sound quality of your clip. Indoors is recommended. </li></ul><ul><li>Q. Who will manage the website? </li></ul><ul><li>A. The committee made up of youth volunteers. </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul>
  8. 8. <ul><li>Q. Do we have to collect any details from the elderly? </li></ul><ul><li>A. Yes, please get the salutation, name, age of the elderly so that we can acknowledge the elderly. </li></ul><ul><li>Q. For the website, who is the target audience? </li></ul><ul><li>A. The website is targeted at the public. </li></ul>
  9. 9. <ul><li>Q. What do I do after I have completed the interview, filmed and edited the clip into one-minute? </li></ul><ul><li>A. Please submit the clip to the committee so we can upload it onto a dedicated website. </li></ul><ul><li>Q. Will there be CIP hours provided? </li></ul><ul><li>A. Yes, the hours will be endorsed by a representative of People’s Association. </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul>
  10. 10. <ul><li>Q. When do I need to submit the one minute-clip? </li></ul><ul><li>A. As this project must be completed within 43 days, please submit the clip as soon as you can. All submissions must reach the committee no later than 13 July 2008. </li></ul>
