Installation by Alessandro Carboni - special project Alig’art Festival 2011
Like a hot-air balloon is a geodesic dome made from recycled paper. The installation is inspired by R. Buckminster Fuller,
inventor, architect, designer, philosopher, writer and television host U.S.. At the end of 1940, Fuller invented the geodesic
dome. An ambitious project that would show a new concept of home as a geometric entity, energy and synergy. The new
way of living, designed by the architect, sought to demonstrate that, used in the right circumstances, the geodesic dome
could solve the pressing housing problems of the time, an economic crisis and real estate that Fuller had predicted in
1929.

Dimension: 170cm ( r) ; 190cm (h)
Material: recycled paper; bolts;
Assistance: interior26, Cagliari, Atzeni Fabio, Andrea Scalas.
production: September 2011

Alessandro Carboni divides his efforts between different practices crossing and combining visual art, performance and
architeture. His focal interest is on body and its relation to space.
