• 1. WELLCOME
• 2. PRESENTATION BY : ADNAN ASLAM ADNAN ROLL NO: 9801 CLASS: T.M.R - B Thread Terminology
• 3. ☺WHAT IS THREAD ? ? ?  The continuous helical groove on a screw or on the inner surface of a nut.
• 4. Uses of threads: AS TEMPORARY FASENTER FOR POWER TRANSMISSIOM
• 5.  THREAD TERMS: ☺MAJOR DIAMETER ☺PITCH DIAMETER ☺MINOR DIAMETER ☺ANGLE OF THREAD ☺DEPTH OF THREAD ☺ROOT ☺ LEAD ☺CREST ☺ FLANK ☺PITCH
• 6.  It is the largest diameter of an internal or external screw thread. It is also known as outside or nominal diameter.
• 7.  It is the smallest diameter of an internal or external screw thread. It is also known as core or root diameter.
• 8.  Angle of adjacent flanks measured at the cross-section of the screw thread- included the axis of the screw thread.
• 9.  The height between the root and the crest vertically to the thread axis.
• 10.  The bottom surface joining the two adjacent flanks.
• 11.  The top surface joining the two flanks of a thread is called crest.
• 12.  It is the distance from a point on one thread to the corresponding point on the next point. This distance to be measured parallel to the axis of the thread.
• 13.  Thread face(excluding the root and crest).
• 14. 9. LEAD  The distance covered by the nut in a single revolution on bolt parallel to the axis is called “LEAD”
