    3. History
      • Baked apples were a common dessert in the Czech Republic for centuries in the Middle Ages.
      • Baked apples are mostly an upper class food but was also made by the lower class but not as gourmet.
    4. Recipe
      • Ingredients: 4 large apples, ½ cup raisins, 1 tbs cinnamon, 4 tbs honey, 4 tbs butter.
      • Procedure: Preheat oven to 400 F. Wash and dry the apples, then using a paring knife core them without piercing through one end of the apples. Mix together the raisins and honey. Spoon some of the raisin mixture into each of the apples. Place a tablespoon of butter on top of the stuffing. Sprinkle some cinnamon on top of the apples. Put the stuffed apples in a small, buttered baking dish. Place in the oven and bake till tender, about 30 minutes. Serve as is or with dollops of whipped cream.
    5. The Food Today
      • The food is still used as a dessert and is served with whipped cream or ice cream.
      • Some people stuff the food with raisins, honey, or walnuts.
      • It’s served today in gourmet restaurants and in country kitchens.
