Students will work in groups of 2-3 to research a topic and create an online presentation. They will develop test questions on their topic and take a test on other groups' topics. To create the presentation, groups must first outline their lesson objectives, vocabulary, and content. Their online presentation should include images, videos, and address the test questions they developed. Students will earn points for completing their presentation on time and reviewing other groups' presentations.
2. In this project you will:
Self Select into groups of 2 or 3.
Select a topic for research and presentation
Generate Test Questions that your classmates
will be assessed by
Create a Presentation that can be embeded
on Coach Vs website
Study the other topic presentations created
by your class mates, prepare for the test.
3. Upon Selecting your topic, use Magnetism
Homepage on Coach Vs website to address
guiding research questions as well as a list of
possible sources.
4. Test Questions- Write three questions that go with your
content. The questions need to follow "think and explain"
format. The questions that you submit must approved and each
question must include your correct response to.
Bad Questions: "what is newton's 1st Law?". to direct and involves
basic memorization to answer.
Better Question: "Describe the two ways that an object will behave
(describe motion) if the forces acting on the object are balanced".
Response: When forces on an object are balanced the object will
move at constant
velocity (no change in speed or direction) or remain stationary
(unmoving).
You need to answer the questions correctly before you will be
permitted to begin making your lesson outline. The idea is that you
will be the class resource for this topic in the event that people do
not understand some part of your presentation they will know that
you are available to help them.
5. Before you can make your lesson, you must make your lesson
outline and get it approved. Your lesson outline must include.
Lesson Title and Authors.
Lesson Objectives: "by the end of this lesson you will be able
to..." these should be complete sentences based on your test
questions that your group generated. Look at your test
questions and ask yourself, "what does the class need to know to
answer your questions". these are your objectives.
Lesson Vocabulary: no need to define here, just give them
direction on what words to pay attention to.
Lesson Order: Bullets or numbers that contain the general topics
of each part of your presentation. Use this as a map when you
making your presentation.
check for understanding questions here and there...this is a good
place to put those "what is...what are...", type questions.
You must finish and have instructor check your lesson outline
before you may begin your prezi.
6. Presentation- I'm suggesting you use Prezi.com, it is
an online digital presentation tool, easy to share with
web links so class mates can view it from anywhere.
Feel free to get creative and do whatever you want to
share the information though, as long as it can be
shared online. You also need:
Short Videos that demonstrate what you are talking
about Youtube.com
Images or pictures from the web to support what you
are talking about (do alot of this) images.google.com
Each page must include a picture
Each presentation must include one self made video
and one youtube video.
7. You will be given timeline based participation
credit for the lesson creation portion of this
unit.
16pts for completing presentation on time.
8pts for completing presentation by final date
of acceptance.
8 pts for reviewing other groups presentation
and completing their three test questions.
Due date of assessment.
8. Your presentation must address the
questions that you have created. If other
groups do not understand certain topics, they
will be directed to you.
If other groups do not complete a
presentation, the class will not be able to
complete participation requirement and the
topic will still be present on final assessment
