  • 2. Nutrients inside a 100ml Low-fat Milk<br />A Low-fat Milk that I usually drink<br />The Low-fat Milk that I used for my test, since the amount of the nutrients was similar to what I was researching<br />

  • 7. Protein Test<br />Procedure<br />1. Get a test tube.<br />2. Pour in low-fat milk until it reaches 1cm from the bottom of the test tube (make sure you use a funnel).<br />3. Add in 10 drops of Biuret A to the 1cm of low-fat milk.<br />4. Add in another 10 drops of Biuret B to the 1cm of low-fat milk.<br />5. Mix the inside.<br />6. Write the Observation down.<br />
  • 8. Glucose Test<br />Procedure<br />1. Get a test tube.<br />2. Pour in the low-fat milk until it is 1cm from the bottom of the test tube (make sure you use a funnel).<br />3. Add in 10 drops of Benedict’s solution.<br />4. Heat it in a 70-90˚C hot water bath for 3-5 minutes.<br />5. Take it out and observe the color.<br />
  • 9. Starch Test<br />Procedure<br />1. Get a spotting tile.<br />2. Put in only a little bit of low-fat milk into one of the holes in the spotting tile.<br />3. Add two drops of Iodine solution into the spotting hole where the low-fat milk is in.<br />4. Observe.<br />
  • 10. Comments about the tests<br />In the Protein test, my prediction was correct &amp; the result was a positive result, since Low-fat Milk always have Protein in it. In the Glucose test, my prediction was wrong &amp; the result was not a positive result. I think this would mean that Low-fat Milk doesn’t have any Glucose in. My prediction was half correct in the Starch test, but didn’t become as a positive result, since I think that Starch isn’t inside the Low-fat Milk.<br />

  • 13. Low-fat Milk helps your body<br />Low-fat Milk helps your body, mainly making bones and teeth strong since there are Calcium, Phosphorus, Magnesium and Vitamin C included. It also helps building up muscles since there are Potassium inside the Low-fat Milk. It also supports process that relates to blood e.g. blood pressure (Sodium), forming red blood cells (Vitamin B12), blood formation (Zinc), and blood vessels (Vitamin C). Low-fat Milk also grows and maintain tissues (Zinc). To finalize, this food (drink) helps your body grow and maintain a lot. <br />
