A flick serve is when you do a back hand serve.Agility Agility is the ability to move fast from place to place…. E.g left to right, front to back, etc.
Criterion A Assessment task for Year 9 This is a PRE & POST GAME STRATEGY AND OBSERVATION task1. My name: Narissa Kunkudatharn Class9B My Opponent Caren Colaco2. Describe the strategy that you plan to use to defeat your opponent. Remember to justify yourchoice of strategy. (Use many badminton terms appropriately). The strategy I will use to win my opponent is to hit clears and long shots/serves. This is because myopponent is not really able to get clears and long shot/serves. The other strategy I will use is to makeher run a lot and use her footwork because she find it hard to run back and forth on the court. So ifshe is at the front I will hit really hard so the shuttle reaches to the back, but if she is at the back then Iwill hit a drop shot so it is harder for her to get the shuttlecock. I am going to use these strategiesbecause I think that I could win the match like this because I have played with Caren many times andshe a difficulty of doing those things. What I have to watch out forare drop shots because I am not really good at receiving this particulartype of shot. So I have to watch out if Caren is near the net I have to be aware and be able to hit theshuttlecock back with a drop shot as well.3. Play the match4. What was the outcome of the match? Score: 11-9I WONLOST (circle one)5. (a) Was your strategy successful? (b) Did you adjust your plan? Why or why not?I think that my strategy worked out really well because I did a lot of clears and long shots/serves. Ialso won the game by a little which can make a difference if we play again. Her serves are also notthat strong so that was my advantage. My disadvantage was when she hit the drop shot because Ididn’t get it all the time, but I did most of the time. I did adjust my plan by changing the servesconstantly from long serves to short serves.6. If you were going to play this opponent again what things would you like to try differently? If I was playing against Caren again I would do the same thing, but I would add different types oftechniques like doing drives and smashes. Because smashes are really direct shots and you couldwin a lot of points doing smashes. I would also want to “fake” my serves/shot if it a long serves/shot ora short serves/shot. As well as, if I was playing against this opponent again I would want to try doingdrop shots because it is my weakness and sometimes in a game it always useful to do different skillsbecause then the opponent won’t know what you are going to do next.7. Assume that this would be a medal match at an upcoming competition. How might you train toimprove your chances against this opponent? What specific skills or tactics do you need, to improveyour game?If I was playing in an upcoming competition I would train to improve all my skill as well as all myweaknesses in order to make them strong and good. I would also practice using more footwork so Icould move around easily and get the shuttlecock a lot faster. I would also need to improve on mytactics like drives, drop/clear shots and my agility because those are the main things that you will needto win the game. I would also improve on different types of techniques and tactics to beat myopponent. In a game it is always important that I have a good tactic so it could get a lot easier in manydifferent ways.
