How they help us understand the world
He was a physicist---he studied physics and things like space,
time,atoms, molecules, gravity etc.
He liked to study by independently.
Einstein study the natural world around him and used math to calculate and
prove his ideas on light, molecules, atoms and space.
When he was 26, he published 4 papers about physics that changed what
the world knew about science.
He was an English physicist and mathematician.
He liked to study the world around him
and ask questions.
For example, when Newton saw the apple fall from a tree he asked
himself, “ What force pulls the apple to the ground?” So he went to study
more and came up with a idea that there is a force called gravity that pulls
things to the ground.
He taught us that gravity makes the moon go around Earth and the Earth
around the Sun.
He never really went to school.
He asked lots of questions so his mom
took him out of school . He read a lot.
He invented the phonograph-the first record player, the movie camera and
many more things.
Most people think that he invented the lightbulb, but he only improved it
by making it last longer.
He created an electric system that brought electricity to homes. His
company is still around and it is called General Electric.
What do these scientists teach us?
These scientists help us understand the world
around us by asking questions, making observations,
doing experiment and sharing their knowledge. Studying
about them inspires us to look around us and try to make
things better in the world.
