Narissa Kunkudatharn 9B Orange House Clowning Performance: Evaluation In drama for the past few weeks my partner Ash and I have been creating a clowningperformance. Our theme for the clowning performance was revenge and I think weportrayed that in a good form. Through the weeks of practicing we went to show ourperformance to Ms. Annie and she said we need to make things simpler because we wereusing too much precision which can confuse the audience. Also, we really needed to workon making our moves bigger than it is and that is one of the most important elements thatneed to be used in any type of drama.FINAL PERFORMANCE: For the final performance we had to dress up like how clowns would and makedifferent hair styles and wear funny/interesting clothes, which was really fun. Whileperforming the final performance I tried to keep on reminding myself to make my movesbigger than how I was doing. In the performance I left few things out, but I continued withthe performance. After the performance I felt like I didn’t make my moves big enough tomake every move of mine interesting to watch, which I felt really bad about.A LESSON AFTER PERFORMANCE: A lesson after the performance everybody in the class started giving feedback andcomments about one another’s performances. The feedback we got for our performancewas that we didn’t make few things clear, for example when Ash took out the wallet frommy bag few people didn’t know that she was taking the wallet, but few people did know shewas taking a wallet because she gave an indication before she was taking it. Also, the otherfeedbacks we got were that our facials were really good and it fit to the situation. As well as,when I was walking towards Ash to get her necklace someone said that my walk wasmatching the music well. Lastly, Tanya said that if we had made our moves a little biggerthan what we did in the performance, the performance would have been even more fun towatch. I agree really well with Tanya because I knew that we could have made the movesbigger and that it would have made it more interesting. What I think I Should Get: From the feedbacks that were given I feel that the grade I should get is an 8/10. Thisis because, in the performance I used good facials and expressions that fit to the situation(someone who gave the feedbacks said that as well). Also, in the performance I tried using alot of audience address to communicate with the audience, which I think I did, because itseemed to make it easier for the audience to understand the story and the situation thatwas going on. For example, I used facials and expressions when I couldn’t get the necklacefrom Ash and when I was reading the book and crying. And I used audience address when Ireally wanted the necklace from her and after I said “hi” to her and other times as well.
Narissa Kunkudatharn 9B Orange House In this performance the features I used was the rule of 3, mime, precision, and theclown walk. The rule of 3 was used when I was trying to get the necklace from Ash andwhen Ash and I were slapping each other. In the performance mime was always usedbecause I used my body to tell the story and what was going on (or the situation). In myperformance precision was used a lot for when I was reading the book, carrying the bag, pointing at Ash’s neck imagining there is a necklace and holding the imaginary wallet. Theclown walk is the most important feature out of all because it identifies your character. Myclown walk was supposed to look like one of those intelligent/smart people so I walked withmy head high and my hands to the side and I moved in small steps. Finally, I think that what I have explained above I should get an 8/10. Evaluating Someone Else I am going to evaluate Hina Yamada as my other person because while Ash (mypartner) was away for one lesson, I was watching Louis’s and Hina’s performance andhelping them improve.I think Hina should get a 9/10 for her performance because she did an excellent job. Notonly that, but the way she presented herself to look like a clown was amazing. When I waswatching Hina before her final performance she didn’t have much facial expression andshedidn’t really communicate with the audience, but in the final performance she did all of that.Hina used her expressions every time she got tricked by Louis and every time she couldn’tfind him. She used communication when she came to the audience and was looking forLouis and whenever she found him she would always look at the audience and have a lookthat is telling us that “he is not smarter than me”. Hina is capable of doing anything onstage, she fell down and it looked really real to me.Hina used many features in her performance like she used the rule of 3 when she had tocatch Louis, she used mime because she used her body a lot. As well as, her clown walk isreally funny because she has got a rabbit tail which makes her walks look even funnier.Furthermore, she also used precision, but not that much of it. Hina’s clowning performance was one of the best out of all because it wasentertaining and it made everyone laugh.
