  • Americans feel different about a brand that they can interact it with via social media. 56% said yes that they feel a stronger connection with a company they can interact with via social networks and 57% say that they feel better served. American’s don’t want to sales pitches on social networks, but they do want to interact with their favorite brands. They will become a more loyal consumer if they can interact.
  • Profiles vs Pages vs Groups Profiles are personal. People must request to be friends and you must approve them before they can see your content Pages are public. Pages can be seen by non-Facebook users, and can be spidered by search engines. Like a mini website. Anyone can “like” (formerly “Become a Fan”) your page. Facebook Page updates will show up on your fans' page feed Link to create a page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php
  • Choose a descriptive name Customize your settings Promote your Page! Suggest to friends Here's a few things to keep in mind, though: you can't select all friends, it can only be done one by one...also, when you suggest a Page to these friends, Facebook doesn't allow you to attach a personal message to it. So, your friends will only see a notification on their dashboard saying "[Your Name] suggests you become a fan of [Your Page]". Of course, they might not know that this is your page unless you tell them ahead of time, and many of them might click the little "x" and dismiss it. Therefore, tell your friends ahead of time that you're inviting them. Don’t forget to be a fan of your own page! Update your status often so that it shows in friend’s feeds Submit your Facebook Page to social networking or bookmarking sites like Delicious, Faves.com, Diigo, Mixx and all the rest. Don't forget to send out a Tweet, too. Don't forget to advertise your new Facebook Page in your e-mail signature, blog and website! Put a fan box on your blog/website. FB Insight Vanity URL
