  1. 2. 1) Humanities Essay
  2. 3. <ul><li>This is an essay we had to write in humanities about physical systems generally. What we had to do was to choose three physical features which can be mountains, plate tectonics, solar energy, water, natural disasters and anything else that men played no part in. I chose these three: plate tectonics, wind and solar energy. It took quite a long time to create, it took me two weeks and the teacher took also about two weeks to grade it. It was an individual project and it what was expected is to talk about physical systems with great detail and examples. </li></ul>? T A H W
  3. 4. <ul><li>I chose this artifact because I was proud of it. I have received a full mark on it and I improved a few point from my last assignment. I worked very hard on it and I wish to share it with more people other than the teacher and myself. It taught me a lot about physical systems and about earth and more. </li></ul>? T A H W O S
  4. 5. <ul><li>This assignment has helped so much in becoming a better student in this school. I have learned to be more organized. There is one lesson where I forgot to send my essay to myself and I sat the whole lesson doing nothing and I made up the work at home. Also, I rushed it at the end and stayed all night to finish it when it was due the very next day. So I learned to use time more wisely. After this essay, I felt more confident about my grade in humanities and it urged me to keep on going where I am going.  </li></ul>? T A H W W O N
  5. 6. 2) Melodrama Play
  6. 7. <ul><li>In Drama, we take one unit at a time and in the end, we have a final performance. This unit, we took Melodrama. The final performance was this: we had to write a play with a group, with the melodrama characteristics. There needs to be a hero/heroine, a villain and a rogue. These characters were required, but there could be more just to back up the story. There has to be a crime that the villain commits, there has to be a threat coming from the villain to the hero/heroine and the hero/heroine always clear his/her name at the end. So these are what has to be included in the play. At the end, we had to act this play out, with melodramatic voice and body language. We were given about four weeks to work on it, so it was a big project. </li></ul>? T A H W
  7. 8. <ul><li>This project was a very fun project to do and taught me a lot about melodrama and drama in general. I found that including this piece for my Wikispace is a very good idea because it gives an idea of what I do in Drama. It is also very fun to read, unlike a boring reflection. It is something different than something else I would have put. I enjoyed doing this project so much, and the reader, I think will enjoy it as well when he/she reads it. It is also not a lot of text, making it a perfect artifact to put in my Wikispace. And that is basically the reason I chose this particular piece for my Wikispace and not anything else I have for Drama (which include Reflection, process journal etc.) </li></ul>? T A H W O S
  8. 9. <ul><li>This piece has definitely helped me in becoming a better learner in MYP. This is because it was a big project, thus helping me organize myself a bit more. Being a big project made me realize how important on day of the four weeks given is important. (Eg: whenever one person of the group is absent, we could get much work done. Also, whenever someone forgot the script or something, we would have to share and that took up some time). Also, since I am usually a quiet person, this project has demonstrated that I can be loud, for I was playing as quite an angry character that talks a lot, and now I feel a lot more comfortable being involved in other works by talking to my classmates. This new feeling will help in not only Drama, but in other subjects as well. </li></ul>? T A H W W O N

  10. 11. <ul><li>This assignment was an Investigation, meaning we had no knowledge about the subject when we did it. We had to discover it through a series of questions. This investigation was about angles. We had to prove that in a triangle, if angle A was equal to angle B + angle C, it would be a right-angle triangle. Three days were given to us to complete this investigation. It too0k the teacher about two days to grade it. It wasn't a very huge mark, but I know it will affect my overall MYP mark. </li></ul>?   11. 12. <ul><li>I was very proud of this investigation. It was the first full mark I have received in Math ever (sixth grade, seventh grade and eighth grade). I received a 10/10 and a 6/6. I also worked very had don it and wanted to show the world my work. It took me about ten hours to complete it. It has given me confidence and now I realize it is possible to get a 7/7 in Math. I have received marks that are towards a seven in Math this term, but this mark is what was enough to believe that I could get a seven. But the main reason I chose it is because it was the only file on the computer that I have for math. </li></ul>? T A H W O S
  12. 13. <ul><li>This has definitely helped me in becoming a better MYP learner. It has given me more confidence to do Math and now, I feel more comfortable with it than ever. It has given me confidence to do more math and I now believe that I can get another full mark. I can do it once, so I can definitely do it again if I try. Now I am trying harder in Math to achieve my goal of a seven this term. Before, I didn't really care.   </li></ul>? T A H W W O N
  13. 14. 4) Favorite Place Slideshow
  14. 15. <ul><li>This was not a graded assignment, but its foundation was. At first, the teacher asked us to choose our favorite place. I chose my grandfather's farm. Then we were asked to write these three styles of writing: informative (informing people about our place), persuasive (persuade people to visit our place) and descriptive (describe our place in a poetic way). After doing this, we had to conclude this project by making a presentation about it. All we had to do is to inform the class about it. A PowerPoint presentation was optional. I chose to do one. It was an effort grade, so we can get zero, check-, check and check+. This here is the presentation I showed the class. It took me a few minutes to do only (it was homework), and took me about half an hour to prepare the presentation. </li></ul>? T A H W
  15. 16. <ul><li>I am proud of the whole project, not just the PowerPoint. I might have not improved from previous marks, but I still did a good job. I received a check+ for the presentation. My class loved my presentation. I know this because they still remember it (it was done some time ago). It was different then other peoples presentations. Most of them did cities or countries, like London or Italy, but I did a farm. I chose this for my wikispace because the rest of my English stuff on the computer were just chunks of writing. I didn't want to include this in my Wikispace, so I decided to put this PowerPoint. </li></ul>? T A H W O S
  16. 17. <ul><li>This piece has made more organized. I am not used to doing an assignment, especially a presentation in only on day, and when this assignment was given to us, I thought I was going to stay up to finish it. I was so worried about it. It was then that I realized I was stressing out way too much. I decided to quit that and I finished it like a normal person would, without stressing out or anything. This project has taught me not to stress out much and not to waste my life doing homework. It has taught me that you can still get a good mark without working eight hours after school. </li></ul>?   17. 18. 5) Bottle Rocket Drawing
  18. 19. <ul><li>In DT, we have many stages, including Investigate, Design, Plan, Create and Evaluate. This was in our Plan Stage. We had to write up a plan with the exact measurements of how we will create a bottle rocket. We also had to make a 3-D drawing to scale on A3 paper which is how the final design will look. This is this piece. It was given to us along with the rest of the stages and the due date of the completion of the whole project was half a year. So all we had to do was to turn it in in the end of that due date. It took the teacher at most a week to grade it. It was not worth so much of our grade, just a quarter of our Plan mark. </li></ul>?   19. 20. <ul><li>I am not sure how much I received in this piece of work, for it was never given to us. But I know it was high because my MYP mark was 7/7. I chose this because it was the only piece I had for DT with me at the moment. It also demonstrates what I did in DT and it is a picture. I do not want just text in my Wikispace, and my DT page had no picture, so I chose this. </li></ul>? T A H W O S
  20. 21. <ul><li>This has helped me in being more confident about DT. I truth, I didn't completely understand the requirement. I didn't know that what I was doing was correct. But when I saw that I got a 7 in DT, I was so excited and I felt more confident about doing both IT and DT. </li></ul>? T A H W W O N
  21. 22. 6) Obesity Essay
  22. 23. <ul><li>This is an essay we had to write. The objective was to write about any disorder in the body that happens to people. It can be lung cancer, visual disorders, digestive disorders, diabetes or more. I chose obesity. I chose it because I knew I would find a lot of information from the internet about it. After we choose the disorder, we describe it with reference to organs in the body. We then had to talk about what is being done to solve the problem. After, we talk about benefits and limitations of the ways that we mention to solve the problem. Then we connect these ways to political, religious, economic and social problems. We had to include a MLA style bibliography. It took about a week to complete and it took the teacher a week to grade. It wasn't a huge grade. </li></ul>? T A H W
  23. 24. <ul><li>I am very proud of this grade. I usually had problems with essay and it takes me hours to do them. I had no idea how to do them and I didn't understand them at all. I always get 4/6 or something around that mark. This essay was different. I understood it very well and I was able to do it in just two hours. I finished early and got a full mark on it. I chose it because it was one of the files on the computer I had currently and I was very proud of it. </li></ul>? T A H W O S
  24. 25. <ul><li>This essay had helped me in becoming a better science learner. This is because after this essay, I finally understood what was expected of us with essays. So future essay will be no problem. I can tell you now that the essay mark has improved. The next essays were all full marks. I have a lot more confidence about science right now. Now that I've understood essays, I finally can go through science easily and get a 7/7 MYP mark every time. </li></ul>? T A H W W O N
  25. 26. 7) Humanities PowerPoint
  26. 27. <ul><li>This project is an individual project and is a presentation is about a country. The teacher gave us any random country in Asia and we had to describe its economic, political and social systems. We research these factors and write them in our own words and include them in the PowerPoint. Then we had to analyze the information we had, connecting it to other systems and saying why the information we included about the country is so important to the country and how it helps make the country develop and become a well-organized country. We should include pictures and designs to make the presentation look better and not just a dull white back grounded PowerPoint with black text only. We are graded on how we analyze the information, the presentation of the PowerPoint, the organization of the text, and the use of information (is the information accurate?). The country that was assigned to me was Jordan. It took about three weeks to make it, so it is a pretty big project. The teacher took about four days to mark it. </li></ul>? T A H W
  27. 28. <ul><li>I am very proud of this piece. It was worth a big part of my grade and my grade was getting lower, but this grade kicked up my grades and it is the grade that helped me in getting a seven on second term. The mark I received was 10/10, 10/10, 9/10 and 10/10. I was very happy with this mark, even though it wasn't full. I have worked very hard on it and it resulted to a very good mark. But the only real reason I have chosen this artifact is because I would be able to use slide share, therefore, making my page more attractive. </li></ul>? T A H W O S
  28. 29. <ul><li>This project has demonstrated that I am capable of getting a seven in humanities, for I was very close to a six. It made me believe that if I try hard on an assignment, no matter how bad the previous grades were, I could still improve my final MYP grade. It was also the first assignment that I finished before the due date in humanities. It has demonstrated me organizing my time wisely. It has taught me a lot about Jordan, which I had no idea existed before I did this project. </li></ul>? T A H W W O N
