Where UAE is located? <ul><li>United Arab Emirates (UAE), is located in the southeastern corner of the Arabian Peninsula. </li></ul><ul><li>It is bordered by the Persian Gulf to the north, Saudi Arabia to the south and west, Oman. </li></ul><ul><li>Its seven states are Abu Dhabi ,´Ajman, Dubai, Al Fujayrah, Ra´s al Khaymah, Ash Shariqah, and Umm al Qaywayn. </li></ul>The UAE's position in the Middle East
    3. 3. Geographic Features of UAE <ul><li>. The Area: The total land area of the United Arab Emirates, including its islands, is 83,600 sq km (32,300 sq mi). </li></ul><ul><li>The UAE has around 700 kilometers of coastline, including 100 kilometers on the Gulf of Oman. </li></ul><ul><li>Along the Arabian Gulf coast are offshore islands and coral reefs. To the east lie the Hajar mountains which reach north into the Musandam peninsula. </li></ul>

Climate of UAE <ul><li>Climatic conditions in the area are strongly influenced by the Indian Ocean, since the country borders both the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. high temperatures in summer are always accompanied by high humidity along the coast. There are various different climate types that vary based on where you are for example the coastal regions, and mountainous areas all have different climate types. </li></ul>

Environment of UAE <ul><li>You can now see forests, fields of grass and wheat where once there were only desert sands and winds. </li></ul><ul><li>The country is independent in growing salad crops and poultry throughout the year and even exports crops to markets in Europe. </li></ul><ul><li>Key animals found in UAE are for example ; The Arabian Oryx, The Sand Gazelle, The Arabian Mountain Gazelle, The Arabian Tahr and The Arabian leopard. A well known animal would be the falcon. </li></ul>

History of (your country) <ul><li>Make a timeline of the important historical events of your country or province. </li></ul>Sheikh Zayed Bin-Sultan Al Nuhayyan is re-elected as the president of UAE for the fourth term. UAE is a founding member of the Gulf Cooperation Council UAE joins the Arab league After independence from Britain, Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujayrah, Sharjah, and Umm al-Qaywayn come together as UAE Sheikh Zayed Bin-Sultan Al Nuhayyan takes over as Ruler of Abu Dhabi . For the first time oil was exported from Abu Dhabi Oil is discovered Sheikh Saqr Bin-Muhammad al-Qasimi becomes Ruler of Ras al-Khaymah. 1986 1981 1972 1971 1966 1962 1950’S 1948 The re-election Gulf co-operation council The Arab league independence Taking over Export of Oil UAE discovered oil Ruler of Ras al Khaymah
    7. 7. Customs and Traditions <ul><li>The local customs and traditions of UAE is influenced to a great extent by Islam since it is the main religion. However it does not make UAE a closed society. </li></ul><ul><li>Eid is one of the main traditions celebrated in UAE , it happens twice a year where kids go around the house getting a eidya ( money ) just like Halloween but instead of chocolate you get money. </li></ul>
    8. 8. Government of UAE <ul><li>UAE has a Federal constitutional monarchy. </li></ul><ul><li>The President -Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahayan </li></ul><ul><li>The Prime Minister -Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum </li></ul>

Economy of UAE <ul><li>UAE currently has one of the fastest growing economies in the world. </li></ul><ul><li>GPD 2007 estimate -  </li></ul><ul><li>Total $159.3 billion  </li></ul><ul><li>Per capital $35,516  </li></ul><ul><li>Petroleum and natural gas exports play an important role in the economy, especially in Abu Dhabi. </li></ul>

Tourism in UAE <ul><li>Dubai is a City built for Tourism with excellent Hotels, Resorts, Shopping and Sports facilities available throughout the year. </li></ul><ul><li>Souks spice souk </li></ul><ul><li>Dubai’s most famous market of all is the gold souk </li></ul><ul><li>Dubai malls: On the Dubai side of the Creek the Wafi, BurJuman Centre, Lamcy Plaza, Al Dhiyafa Centre, Karama Centre </li></ul><ul><li>A visit to the Dubai museum is a must. There you can find displays on the following subjects : </li></ul><ul><li>Commercial Life </li></ul><ul><li>Domestic Life </li></ul><ul><li>Life in the Desert </li></ul><ul><li>Life in the sea </li></ul><ul><li>And many more </li></ul>
