    • Radio
      • Radio is a form of advertising via the medium of radio. Airtime is purchased from a station or network in exchange for airing the commercials.
      • Radio commercials are usually sold in 10, 20, 30, 60 or 120 second increments.
      • Ad agencies generally purchase radio based on a target demographic. For example, if you wanted to reach teens, you would purchase an ad on a radio station that is popular with teens.
      • Effective because you can reach your specific targeted audience, at any specific time you want.
    • Outdoors
      • A panel for the display of advertisements in public places, such as alongside highways or on the sides of buildings.
      • Billboards - The cost of billboard advertising ranges from about $700 to $2,500 a month. At that rate, ten billboards could run as much as $25,000 per month.
      • Billboard ads tend to target middle- to upper-income demographics.
      • More effective in some ways, it’s up 24 hours a day, 7 days a week verses a 1 time newspaper ad or 30 sec. commercial. But you are limited in amount of words, with billboards have to concentr ate more on visuals than text.

      • Examples of online advertising include contextual ads on search engine results pages, banner ads, Rich Media Ads, Social network advertising, online classified advertising, advertising networks and e-mail marketing, including e-mail spam.
      • The large majority of online advertising has a cost that is brought about by usage or interaction of an ad, there are a few other methods of advertising online that only require a one time payment
      • In addition to contextual targeting, online advertising can be targeted based on a user's past click stream.
      • Effective because anyone who visited that particular webpage will see your ad, and based on the different types, some are very hard to miss.

      • The vast majority of TV advertisements today consist of brief advertising spots, ranging in length from a few seconds to several minutes, as well as program-length infomercials.
      • The TV commercial is generally considered the most effective mass-market advertising format, and this is reflected by the high prices TV networks charge for commercial airtime.
      • TV commercials can target any audience they want, but with that if you want a prime time spot, its going to cost a lot. So unless your company is willing pay that price, TV commercials are probably not the best advertisement choice.
    • Newspaper
      • A printed advertisement that is published in a newspaper with a subscription to run for 2 weeks with color, would cost around $1,334.00, and increases with each extra day printed.
      • Newspaper demographics show that it reached, both men and women that are middle-aged or older.
      • This avenue of advertising in only effective to those who pay to read the newspaper, if this is the only ways a company is going to advertising, its not going to be able to reach as many people that you could.
    • Yellow Pages
      • The yellow pages are directory where business products and services are listed alphabetically by field along with classified advertising.
      • One good thing about this type of ad is the ability to target an audience in a specific geographical area.
      • And once your ad goes in the Yellow Pages, its there for an entire year. And its there 24 hours a day, so you don’t have to worry about whether or not people will see your ad or not.

      • Before Movie Ads can target a wide range of viewers, young and old, guys or girls, and so forth.
      • The demographics change depending on which film the advertisement is shown before.
      • This can be effective because you can reach different age groups, that the other ways wouldn’t necessarily reach in one viewing.

      • The demographics of Mailed catalogues, flyers, post cards, etc. are all dependent on who the info is mailed to. With this you are able to target the specific area you want.
      • Direct-mail advertising has several advantages, including detail of information, personalization, selectivity, and speed.

      • And is dependent on the appropriateness of the mailing list, and is resented by some customers, who consider it "junk mail."
