  3. 3. NORTHERN COALFIELD LIMITED It is subsidiary of coal India. It was established in 1984 under the CCL. Its headquarter is singrau NCL produced 70.02 million tons of coal in the year 2012-13. NCL has following projects:- Amlohri Block-B Bina Dudhichua Kakri Khadia Nigahi Krishnashila Jayant Jhingurdah INTRODUCTION

PLACE OF TRAINING The place of training is Jhingurdah project in E&M department.  E&M department has following area: -  Main substation (33/11KV)  Electrical and mechanical workshop  West substation (11/6.6KV & 11/3.3KN)  Coal handling plant  Pumps plant  I worked only three of them  Main substation (33/11KV)  Electrical workshop  West substation (11/6.6KV & 11/3.3KN)
  5. 5. MAIN SUBSTATION The supply (33/11KV) is from MPEB substation. In this substation 05 MVA transformer are used to step down the voltage 33KV to 11 KV. Form this substation 11KV supply is transmitted to following are:- West substation Colony Field CHP

  9. 9. TRANSFORMER USED IN SUBSTATION  Current transformer  It is step up transformer or current step down transformer.  It convert 100-200A of primary to 1-2A of secondary.  Potential transformer  It is step down transformer.  It convert 11-22KV into 50-100V.
