Robotic Project Robotic Project Presentation Transcript

  • Robotic By: Tuan Nguyen Bo Wang
  • Introduction
    • Robotics is the General engineering science and technology associated
    • with the theory, design, manufacture and application.
    • Robotics foundations are based on: (5)
    • Kinematics
    • Dynamics
    • Control
    • Motion planning
    • Trajectory,
    • Generation,
    • Programming
    • Design
    • And it’s related to the mechanics, electronics, and software in the studying or manufacturing process. (5)
  • History of Robotics
    • 3500 BC - Greek myths of Hephaestus and Pygmalion incorporate the idea of intelligent mechanisms. Something we would later call robots. (16)
    • 2500 BC - Egyptians invent the idea of thinking machines: citizens turn for advice to oracles, which are statues with priests hidden inside. (16)
    • 1400 BC - Babylonians develop a water clock named the "clepsydra." (16)
    • This water clock is considered one of the first "robotic" devices in the history of man kind. The water is recycled through a kind of siphoning system. (16)
    • 700 - 800 BC - First symbolic mention of robots (automated) appears in Homer's Iliad - or simulacra as they will be called later. (16)
  • Components of a Robot
    • Power source (17)
    • Generally electric energy.
    • Pneumatic.
    • Hydraulics.
    • Flywheel energy storage.
    • Structure (17)
    • Wheel.
    • Mechanism pulley.
    • Metal, or durable material.
    • Actuator – Motor (17)
    • Muscles.
    • Power by Chemicals, and compressed air.
    • Electrical
    • DC motor, AC motor, Stepper Motor and Servomotor,
  • Components of a Robot
    • Driving mechanisms (17)
    • Gears.
    • Chains.
    • Pulleys.
    • Belts,
    • Sensors (17)
    • Logical sensor.
    • Ultrasonic sensor.
    • Proximity sensor.
    • Infrared sensor.
    • Feeler sensor.
    • Programming (17)
    • PLC- Programmable Logic Control
    • Image- Programmable Interface Controller
  • EXAMPLES OF ROBOTIC AROUND US
  • Industries Robotic
  • Advantage Of Robotic Invention
    • Robotics and automations can increase safety, reliability, production amount, profit, quality and quantity of products in a lot of cases. (1)
    • They can do jobs in dangerous situations and save lives in the thousands. (1)
    • They do not care about the comfort of their environment. Such as Human for instant hunger or depression have no meanings for them. They do not get tired.
    • Their accuracy is so high and is in the range of millimeters or even micrometers. (1)
  • Advantages of robots In Industry
    • Increase Productivity with Shorter Cycle Time. (1)
    • Increase Quality of Product, Process and Work Environment. (1)
    • Increase Manufacturing Flexibility. (1)
    • Reduce Scrap and Manufacturing Costs.(1)
    • Compete Better By Reducing Undesirable Tasks.(1)
    • Improved Worker Safety.(1)
    • Decrease Floor Space.(1)
    • Easy Setup for Fast & Simple Operation.(1)
    • Automatic Changeover for Different Products.(1)
  • Disadvantage Of Robot
    • High initial cost of robotic systems and robots. (2)
    • Possible need for extra space, and accommodate new technology. (2)
    • There must be highly skilled technical engineers, programmers and others to set up robotic systems and to prevent unnecessary future problems and mishaps. (2)
    • New robotic systems can cause defect and possible injuries during time. (2)
    • Robotic systems and robots are limited to their functions.
    • Robots may not respond properly in times of an emergency or when some unexpected variance occurs. (2)
    • Reduced less human force. (2)
  • Interesting Facts
    • The first known case of robot homicide occurred in 1981, when a robotic arm crushed a Japanese Kawasaki factory worker. (4)
    • There are currently 4,000 robots serving in the US Military, including reconnaissance Talon bots that scout for roadside bombs in Iraq and Pack-Bots that unsuccessfully poked around for Osama bin Laden’s hideout in Afghanistan. (16)
    • Electro is the first humanoid robot in the world which was debuted in the year 1939. It was created by the Westinghouse. It was 7 foot in height and was able walk and speaks. It spokes over seven hundred words which was stored in it. (4)
    • Nowadays there are millions of industrial robots are in use and about half of them are in Japan alone. (16)
