  3. 3. acupuncture<br />A procedure used in or adapted from Chinese medical practice(originated in China over 5000 years ago) in which specific body areas are pierced with fine needles for therapeutic purposes or to relieve pain or produce regional anesthesia.<br />

  6. 6. the tongue is a "map" of the internal body:the tongue is divided into five-element zones that correspond to your internal organ networks.<br />For example:<br />Center of the tongue is related to the stomach-spleen-pancreas network. Problems of the digestive system most often show up here. <br />

The major benefits of Acupuncture are as follows:<br />Drug-free pain relief<br />Assists prevention against disease<br />Treats the cause as well as the symptoms<br />Holistic approach to illness, linking body, mind and emotions<br />Effectively treats many common ailments(chronic diseases)<br />
  8. 8. What is zang-fu?<br />In TCM(traditional chinese medicine)<br />, the body is treated as a whole that is composed of several "systems of function" known as the zang-fu. The zangsystems are associated with the solid, yin organs such as the liver while the fu systems are associated with the hollow yang organs such as the intestines.<br />
  9. 9. Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)<br />the traditional symbol representing the forces of yin (dark) and yang (light).<br />
  10. 10. meridians:there are channels along which the energy or qiof the psychophysical system is considered to flow.Acupuncture Points:Acupuncture points were believed to be holes that allow entry into acupuncture meridians or channels in which qi and blood flow. There are over 2000 acupuncture points on the human body that connect with the meridians.<br />
  11. 11. 20 meridians:<br />There are 12 main meridians and 8 secondary meridians that travel up, down and around our bodies.  The 12 main meridians are referred to as follows: <br />Lung, Large Intestine, Stomach, Spleen, Heart, Small Intestine, Bladder, Kidney, Pericardium, Triple Heater, Gall Bladder and Liver.<br />

Acupuncture in Iran:<br />It’s about 20 years that acupuncture is common in Iran.<br />All equipment used in this type of medicine are made from abroad .<br />  we have High consumption of synthetic drugs and we need alternative medicine*.<br />Training will be given in foundation & advanced.<br />*: A variety of therapeutic practices, such as naturopathy, herbal medicine, that do not follow generally accepted medical methods and may not have a scientific explanation for their effectiveness.<br />

Some news:<br />There are approximately 17,000 acupuncturists in the United States.<br />Training here and abroad is usually a 3- to 4-year process, including all aspects of TCM, which includes not only acupuncture but also herbal formula, massage, dietary therapy, and exercise programs.<br />Nearly 4,000 physicians in the United States have been trained as acupuncturists.<br />
