  4. 4. 1. Topic Sentence a sentence which limits the topic to one or two specific areas (controlling idea) being discussed completely in a single paragraph Topic Sentence  Topic + Controlling Idea
  5. 5. Getting ideas to write a single paragraph sometimes is difficult. The ideas can be too broad that it will be too large to cover in a single paragraph. MAKE THE GENERAL INTO THE SPECIFIC
