Photoshop Experiment Screenshots

  1. 1. This was an image I took today of myself, I just want to show what I might do with my double page article image. I positioned my hands high and open so I could add good effects to the hands (energy blasts).
  2. 2. I then selected the image I wanted from the background.
  3. 3. I cut the image
  4. 4. Pasted it into a new layer
  5. 5. I started erasing the background parts
  6. 6. This is close up of when I was erasing the background
  7. 7. This was it when I finally erased the background
  8. 8. I added a new layer for the background
  9. 9. I painted it black with the paint tool
  10. 10. I added ‘noise’ to create a star effect
  11. 11. I then added a gaussian blur
  12. 12. I then went to filter, other, threshold to make the white spots stand out more
  13. 13. I added more gaussian blur to make the stars look realistic
  14. 14. I went to offset
  15. 15. The ‘offset’ tool made the stars duplicate and it looked more vibrant
  16. 16. This was the final background image
  17. 17. I Indicated layer visibility of the first layer (the one of me)
  18. 18. I added glow balls with the brush tool, I had the brush as a soft brush to create realistic energy ball
  19. 19. I then went to filter, lighting effects
  20. 20. I added a ‘lens flare’ to look as if the balls were generating out of my hands
  21. 21. I then wanted to colour of the balls to be a blue or something vibrant, so I added a photo filter
  22. 22. This was it after I added a blue photo filter, it looked very realistic
  23. 23. I added a ‘ellipse’ shape with the ellipse tool
  24. 24. I then went to filter, wave to add a wave to the ‘ellipse’; it looked as if the balls were connected
  25. 25. This was the final image, I was very pleased with it. This is the sort of effect I want on my double page article image, so sort of light coming out of the models hands.
