  • 1. Why do Catholics believe in the sanctity of life?
  • 2. In this lesson, you’re going to learn:
    • What is the sanctity of life?
    • How does belief in the sanctity of life shape Catholic beliefs on abortion and euthanasia
  • 3. The sanctity of Life
    • The sanctity of life is a Catholic belief
    • It is the belief that all life is sacred and important, and should be protected and respected at all times
    • “ So God made man to his own image, to the image of God he created him, male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:27) – we are all made in the image of God, therefore we are important. This shows how we shouldn’t end our lives

    • "If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord." (Romans 14 8)
    • Whether we are dead or alive, we belong to God – therefore our lives show significant importance
