What Are The Basics? <ul><li>Attitude – GCSE RE has to be taken seriously </li></ul><ul><li>Homework & Revision – assume that all current homework is to revise classwork and make sure homework is always complete on time </li></ul><ul><li>Books – you should keep books presentable and should always remember to bring them to class </li></ul><ul><li>Behaviour – your behaviour should reflect someone wanting to do the best they can in GCSE RE </li></ul>

  • 4. <ul><li>RE is here to help us to think deeply about the most important issues in life. </li></ul><ul><li>RE should help anyone (Christian or not) to think more deeply about what is important about life. </li></ul>
  • 5. Exams: <ul><li>You sit 2 exams, that are 1 hour, 30 mins </li></ul><ul><li>Each of these exams are worth 50% of your final grade in RE </li></ul><ul><li>You sit one exam in year 10, the other in year 11 </li></ul>

Course outline: <ul><li>Year 10: </li></ul><ul><li>Edexcel unit 3, </li></ul><ul><li>Believing in God, Matters of life and death, marriage and the family, religion and social cohesion </li></ul><ul><li>Year 11: </li></ul><ul><li>Edexcel unit 8, </li></ul><ul><li>Religion and social responsibility, religion and the environment, peace and conflict, crime and punishment </li></ul>
