  2. 2. Homework<br />Given out on a Wednesday, handed in the following Tuesday.<br />Should be neatly presented.<br />10-15 minutes every day should be enough: not to be done in one go on the Monday night.<br />
  3. 3. Shared Learning Challenges<br />Recommended minimum 1 per week.<br />Work should be done with a parent or carer at home.<br />Please don’t print off pages from the internet. <br />Work should be in children’s own words.<br />Available to view on the school website on P5/4 page.<br />
  4. 4. Literacy<br />Reading: Groups are following Story World and Literacy World programmes.<br />Writing: Class are working on technical writing skills such as punctuation and connectives at the moment. <br />Moving on to creative writing and poetry before Christmas.<br />
  5. 5. Numeracy<br />Following Scottish Heinemann Maths schemes.<br />Practical activities.<br />Maths games.<br />Have been working on ‘Time’ this term.<br />Moving on to length next week.<br />
  6. 6. Topics<br />This term:“Fantastic Mr Fox” and “Heroes and Villains”.<br />Term 2: The Solar System.<br />Term 3: Myths and Legends/Jacobites.<br />Term 4: Heroes and Role Models (2012 Olympics).<br />
  7. 7. Learning Logs<br />Based on the Four Capacities of the Curriculum for Excellence.<br />Pupils record what they have learned during the week, set targets for the next week and review last week’s.<br />
  8. 8. Contact/questions<br />Please feel free to write a note in your child’s homework diary if you have any questions or concerns.<br />
